Recent Grants

The Trustees are pleased to announce that Dr Anna Ranta is the first recipient of the Trusts’ Travelling Medical Fellowship.

Dr Ranta is Consultant Neurologist and Lead Stroke Physician at our hospital. The fellowship will assist Dr Ranta in spending six weeks at the University of Heidelberg in an intensive study programme covering ultrasonography applicable to stroke patients and plans to utilise this skill in the management of stroke and TIA patients at Palmerston North hospital.

Over the last four months Trustees have approved grants for nursing staff to attend significant international conferences/workshops covering pain, diabetes, stroke, etc; held in Brisbane, Melbourne, Minneapolis, Phoenix, San Antonio and Montreal. This is in keeping with the Trust’s objectives of achieving the best possible patient care at our hospital through enhancing staff education.
